AI is a threat for sure but there is a huge factor everyone seems to be overlooking. In most things we, as human beings, assign a value to something, mostly as acts of imagination. A Van Gogh will fetch $50million at auction, a technically identical painting made by AI is essentially worthless. People will mass read the next Stephen King novel but way less will read a technically perfect novel written by AI Stephen King. We place huge value on what people produce. Already you can see most people are incredibly bored by AI copy, AI art and many other things. Also humans prefer and need human beings for many jobs: hospitality, sales, health care, therapy, art, theatre, and on and on. These seem fairly future proof for a long time. Also trades etc. seem pretty safe for now. Content mills and corporate admin and bland crap is in danger but a lot of jobs are not. The upside could even be valuing “human created” at a much higher premium and worth.
