While Zelenskyy is fighting a just cause, we should be careful to remember not to give him free reign to do whatever he wants and run the risk of becoming a dictator himself in his mission to fight off another. So far Zelenskyy has suspended elections within Ukraine and dismissed huge numbers of generals for “pessimism” regarding the war effort. This war could drag on for another 20+ and I don’t see how Ukraine could go that long without free and fair elections and still be called a democracy. We need to provide Ukraine and Zelenskyy with our support but there must be an enforcement of respect for democracy and allow freedom of speech among the military leadership even when it contradicts Zelenskyy’s position.
