Like any leader he’s petty far from perfect, and it’s always healthy to maintain a general distrust of politicians. Ukraine has been in the middle of a cultural tug of war though between Russia and the West for a long time, and while his predecessor buddied up with Putin and fostered corruption to the detriment of his people, Zelenskyy is leading the country in a western direction, clamping down on corruption. After the war, when Ukraine is admitted into NATO, a conditon will be better solidifying democracy in their constitution. Assuming that goes well and Ukrainian democracy is maintained, he’ll likely be remembered as a national hero. Basically he represents a move towards the west in that region, which Russia hates. Two reasons he deserves our support.
