The majority of Republican party supports Ukraine and military help to Ukraine except extreme right wing. The same as the majority of Democrat party except radical left wing. This is completely in harmony with the majority of Americans. Military aid to Ukraine in the last approx year and a half is around $20B Compare this with over $100B (in today's $) of lend lease help to UK in the first 2 (!) months and over $80B help to Afghanistan . Only in 9 months Ukraine had enough to start a new offensive campaign. All of this for a very simple reason: Several key people in the US administration have the opinion that Ukraine "should not loose the war" rather than "win this war". They openly declare it again and again that Russian occupying forces should not be destroyed militarily by Ukraine. Presenting this as a partisan issue ignores the facts. Yes, each party has a small minority with extreme positions. The majority of both major political parties an well as american citizens supports Ukraine. However the real problem is the opinions of several key people currently holding positions of power to make specific decisions.
