Although it's better at languages and translations now, we've been using deep learning AI for decades. This is just a new iteration of deep learning.
Face recognition took jobs from security, weather took jobs from meteorologists, climate science research took jobs from students, protein folding and the like took jobs from medical researchers, audit/fraud took jobs from accountants and others, the CGI stuff has been in use for years.
I don't see why artists are off limits.
