Most companies love to join bandwagon..right now chat gpt and ai is that shiny new tool. Most companies will use it and find it is not sufficient. After learning some hard lessons..they will hire some of the laid off positions. Chat gpt will also Improve and there will be happy equilibrium. People will not be unemployed but roles might change. If every company starts using chatgpt...there will be less competitive advantage there. So companies need to invent new areas to grow which will create jobs that will build on your software or programming background. When cars came....horse drawn carriages died...but a whole new industry to service and fill gas and sell cars came up.
