I’m in an industry that will likely be impacted to the tune of 98% and that progress has been happening for some time. Call centres. That current progress is automated chat bots. They are getting much better and instead of needing 100 people to staff a chat channel, you now need 30. Simple inquiries no longer requires a person and only escalated things are required. The AI that drives it is getting better and will only improve. One would argue non AI stated that movement with self service through the IVR or websites, but I digress. That will also go further in the future on voice channels, email etc. I’m in planning and that number crunching can be replaced as well. Will all jobs be gone? No. But a majority in my industry will be and you’ll have a few there to keep the escalations or checking in place.
