Let's say this actually happens, and everyone stops "training AI models" for 6 months... In that time, everyone will be studying LLMs and AI like crazy. Not technically building or training AI systems, but building tangentially-related systems and other proofs of concept. Once the timeout is lifted, it would be like the big bang of AI. Thousands of people and companies would release their systems and we'd skip over all of the incremental learning that we're all participating in now. IMHO, this "timeout" is far more dangerous.
