Also, [human perception is discrete](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12757822/). Having conscious thoughts on the scale of femtoseconds makes no sense. So what does the mind do in between those thoughts? It’s “idle” until more input causes a chain reaction in your neurons. The idle argument of ChatGPT doesn’t prove anything except that we haven’t decreased its idle time on the same order of the human minds idle time. Which btw, I’m sure openai already has the capacity to make ChatGPT continuous if not very soon.
