I have to challenge the premise. No McDonalds or any other complex facility has been fully automated.
In the case of McDonalds, customers now do the point of sales entry instead of an employee. A conveyor belt (100 year old tech) moves the order to the customer. Everything else is the same as 1990.
Just like Tesla’s Autopilot, there’s a lot of smoke, but not much fire.
