Secondary question, how far off do we think the singularity is? 5 years? 10?
Once AI gets a foothold in finance and the military we're going to see some really weird stuff happen. I also find it strange that the first things we set AI to tackle were things that we generally define as exclusively human. Creativity, ingenuity, artistic expression. These historically have been both a reason to live and uniquely expressive of the human condition. Why outsource that to a computer? Why not water treatment, weather prediction, cancer treatment or cold fusion?
