I am 100% with you. The way light hitting my eyes and getting processed by my brain could be completely different to a photovoltaic sensor input for this ai, but really, what’s the difference? What’s the difference between that and a fly’s eye? It doesn’t really matter. I think consciousness is like intelligence or fitness. Useful terms that can be applied broadly or narrowly, that you know it when you see it. What’s more intelligent, an octopus or a baby chimp? Or this ai? What is more conscious, a mouse, an amoeba, or this ai? Doesn’t really matter, but something that looks like consciousness is going on and that’s all consciousness is.
