I think the argument has clear pragmatic implications, mostly in the way we respond to the choices of others. While it's true that my beliefs about free will don't really help me make my own choices any differently, recognizing the lack of responsibility others have for the way they are helps promote compassion and nullifies the rational for retributive justice. It also provides a strong argument against the reward/punishment framework of most religions.
