COVID is here to stay. It might already be calming down to being a more manageable disease, or we might have one or more really bad variants on the way (omicron could be really bad or basically a big flop, we dont know yet). Climate change WILL GET MUCH WORSE. All signs point to an acceleration in emissions, warming, and ocean acidifcation. We're going to dealing with mass plankton die offs, a blue ocean event, many extreme storms yearly, etc. there will be no new normal for the climate during our life times because it will be changing the whole time. The things thatll really hurt will be food shortages and perhaps enough change to the composition of the atmosphere that it actually affects our breathing (not so sure about this, depends on how much the plankton die-offs affect oxygen levels and the methane releases actually change the atmospheric composition).
