The argument that phrama companies are making is that the benefit in the short-term and even mid-term distribution is miniscule, which means you're asking them to lose control of their product (which by the way carries reputational and even public health consequences if the production is remotely substandard) so that *long-term* countries can make their own vaccine. This is not the slam-dunk "big pharma evil" this thread is making this out to be.
