It really is. Facial recognition is a jumping off point and that’s it. You need to use other sources to develop an investigation independent of the software that could stand entirely on its own if need be. If you can’t do that, either the software is incorrect, you’re not a good investigator, or there’s been a fluke and the criminal is legitimately that good. It’s unlikely they’re that good, so it’s probably one of the first two.
