If the media reported honestly, and the real experts provided the necessary context, it wouldn't be necessary for people to play armchair virologist. But here's the media with an article with a clickbait title that makes a bold unsupported claim (notice how the original scientific paper the article is based on doesn't mention anything about herd immunity). And people have caught on that what this article is reporting is unfounded nonsense, yet sadly they don't the expertise to actually know what's right. Bullshit begets bullshit. I blame this squarely on the media, it's their responsibility to inform and they've failed miserably.
