I don’t think we can rely on personal responsibility to keep tech companies in check. Sure it would be nice if people would refuse to code things they didn’t think were moral, but at the end of the day there’s going to be someone you can find to do it. Until there are legal repercussions for doing these things, it’s not really fair to ask good people to turn down high paying jobs so that less morally upstanding citizens can have them instead
