Weak AI is mechanical and it does exist: algorithms, that statistician use to predict a given variable exists. A.I. that learns to recognize a chair exist, A.I. that help detecting fraud exist.
=> Those are weak A.I. A weak A.I is designed to achieve a specific task and they require human input.
Otherwise I'm not implying it is more than mechanical.
