The more tools police have, the better their performance will be. If facial recognition tech could reduce the number of people who are harassed because they "matched the description of a suspect," that's a good thing. If it helps ID someone who's on the run and likely to hurt more people, I'm for it. If it brings down the number of crimes people are able to commit before police gain enough evidence for an arrest, that's a positive for the community. The focus should be on making sure technology is used responsibility, not banning it outright. Think of how many falsely accused people would still be sitting in jail if scared politicians had banned DNA evidence in the early 90s.
