Doug ford is still playing catch up, and he's being spoon fed the playbook at this point. After the shitshow that was his early response, and the damage he's done to the PC party so far, the rest of the party grabbed his dick, slapped it in a bear trap and bascily demanded he utterly not fuck this shit up. Ontario only votes for the PC party when they forget why they pissed them off last time. Given that they still haven't gotten over the mike harris image problem, fucking up their response to an actual crisis would have ruined the party for at least a generation. If Ford had kept up with his initial response instead of the bare minimum, they'd have thrown him out of the party leader role so fast the sonic booms would break the windows at queens park.
