What countermeasures you should use is determined by the tech being used for each specific recognition system. A ball cap with infrared LEDs shining on your face can confuse many such systems, and combined with camoflage techniques such as CV Dazzle, and anti-algorithmic attacks with adversarial patterns on your clothing or on sunglasses, and you should be able to block most such forms of mass recognition and surveillance. Far easier, however, is to directly attack the systems performing the surveillance, ideally with something fairly destructive.
