>I respect her intentions. but we need real solutions, not more idealists who get to make demands without considering the consequences.
That's because the solutions will come from well-funded organizations getting hundreds of people together and figure shit out. The kind of organization that requires government support and action, because corporations will never do that, and the fossil fuel industry will actively interfere with through misinformation, distraction, and political lobbying.
We need a solution. The first step is getting people all on the same page that *there is a problem*, and then that we need to solve it. Greta is helping with getting us all on the same page and moving in the same direction. The solutions will be found, there are plenty of people willing to work on it, but there needs to be a systematic grassroots push with the will of the people behind it, holding politicians accountable, to counteract the misinformation campaign and lobbying of the fossil fuel industries.
>We dont understand why the politicians arent fixing things.
Oh absolutely we do. Money, and no public pressure to go against that money.
>Most seem to think they can fix the problem with money... just tax the wealthy! As if you can take their dollars and suck the carbon coming out of the tailpipe right out of the air.
Definitely agree with you there, it requires a change in consumerist society. I'd say more than cutting gas and meat we also have to stop buying useless crap. Reduce, reuse, recycle, stop buying, live simpler, less materialistic lifes, and value well-made local stuff over cheap mass-produced stuff made by the thousands in China and shipped all over the world.
>But whenever someone actually suggest that, the masses flock to someone else who tells them what they want to hear. Which is solution without sacrifice.
Yep. It sucks, but on the other hand too, we can look at the world's greatest polluters and help/make them pollute less. That would help
