That part is wong. The core of autonomous vehicle software is the "PPPC" loop - Perception, **Prediction,** Planning, Control.
The prediction part is based on the vectors - travel paths - of vicinity objects it has recognized, and things like turn signals and brake lights. A major problem can occur when the Perception part does not pick up an object in the vicinity of the Ego Car.
