Just wrote an article about this for a client, what a coincidence! Professors at the German University of Heidelberg recently pitted 58 dermatologists versus an AI and asked both to identify skin cancers from images. The human success rate was 86.6%, while the AI success rate was 95% - and the AI had less false positives to boot. While AI certainly won’t replace humans any time soon, it will push people out of jobs. I hope that governments will shortly realize just how many people automation stands to negatively effect and put in place UBI programs etc. if they don’t, many of the worlds biggest economies - particularly the US - could collapse.
