Facebook is evil, but the algorithm could be used for lots of things, capitalist and humanitarian.
One application I thought about is finding missing people, kidnapped children, etc. If we can synthesize images of what people looked like a decade ago or will look like in another decade we might be better able to find them when they're cases are cold.
