A lot of these replacement trees being planted are not biodiverse.
They are being replaced with a monoculture of one species of tree intended for harvest as timber or another commodity. This leaves the forests incredibly fragile to disease and pests and they do not support anywhere near the biodiversity of life of the forests being cut down.
