So many good uses for the tool! Facial recognition has uses in basic security: * Imagine being able to enter a building without a keyfob or a passcode. Using high fidelity facial recognition can make that possible. * Identify suspects/criminals with higher accuracy, preventing false id's caused by human bias * Prevent things like credit card fraud by examining the person using the card at the register and checking if the face is a match from a card issuer's database * Pretty much anything where recognizing a person is helpful There are also applications elsewhere: * Take school attendance automatically (this is a bane in university classes and wastes so much time, plus quick systems for counting attendance are easily fooled) * Unlocking phones/devices (already seen in iPhone X and computers) * Smart advertising (build a profile of a user, hold in a database, when they look at a screen show them relevant ads) * Quick demographic identification (for things like research studies, post voting polls, etc.) * In-hospital patient tracking I can't think of any more off of the top of my head, and I've only taken one class in computer vision, so this list is nowhere close to exhaustive!
