I lived in CM, Bangkok, Krabi and Luang Prabang (different country same same but different)
Burning season sucks in CM, but you sort of get used to it. Some days are worse than others, depending on the wind. The nice part about being in CM though is Chiang Kong (Laos border crossing) isn’t terribly far and you can escape the smoke floating down the Mekong Delta for a few days.
By any chance do you teach TEFL at Chiang Mai University?
