I work in the film industry in the camera department and 68 hours a week is a little above average in my city. I am not condoning it at all and would love for there to be industry-wide caps put in place to limit shooting days to 10 hours or less. Unfortunately, my average work day is 13 hours, plus an hour lunch, plus commutes that range from 30 minutes on a good day to about 45-80 minutes (each way) on average. Most film technicians don't want it to change because most of our income comes from doing "overtime" (which is anything over 8 hours).
