I work between 40 and 44 hours a week, and while I think 30-35 would be a much more suitable amount of time to properly balance your personal and professional lives, the 40-44 I work now isn't all that bad. I work in an entry level office position, so I dont mind long hours as much as I did when I worked in distribution or retail, for example. Ironically enough though, this is the highest paying position ive ever held in my life, and is also by far the least demanding with workload and general stress level. Its amazing how much abuse you have to endure in imdustries like retail and food service while being compensated with about 1/2 a liveable wage for a full time worker.
