I feel like there's this unspoken assumption around here that AI will fix that too. Despite no supporting evidence. It should be obvious that a system not designed primarily to benefit the average joe is not going to support an entire population within a capitalist economy. Is everyone who gets laid off going to get their own personal robot that panhandles in the street while they stay home and play videogames? No. The rich investors will get richer and the rest of us can get fucked. Additionally AI would serve to reinforce these power structures through threat modeling. Anyone that doesn't like it and tries to change the status quo can be identified and dealt with easily. An early version of this is already being trialed in China with "citizen scores".
