Having said the above, I've read through most of the linked blog post and, yeah, it's basically unreadable. If the guy that wrote it is in the final months of writing his PhD as he says in his "about" paragraph, I can only say holy moly. Sorry Jack if you're reading this but... AT BEST you have serious stylistic problems in your writing here. "AI to our genes" is grammatically weird enough to be unparseable. "Place these claims in scientific explanation" is the same. Readers cannot tell what you mean by this. And then, the whole idea of consciousness as an "AI our genes built" is a non-starter from the beginning since anything our genes "built" would by definition be natural, not artificial. At the top you say you're "necessarily anthropomorphizing" but if you acknowledge that from the beginning, you thereby acknowledge your main thesis that consciousness is an AI built by genes is not nearly as significant as it sounds--since you're just anthropomorphizing. It's not necessary to anthropomorphize. Put your point in more plain terms. If it doesn't hold up or sound as interesting when you do that--well, that's the problem!
