They ignored sales... They measured memory and attitude, but neglected to measure the effect on sales. No one cares if the ad is forgotten or viewed negatively, as long as they get your money. The claim is "sex sells", not "sex makes you remembered for a long time with a positive attitude". They made a point at the end to mention that Carl's Jr. no longer uses sexy ads to sell burgers. **The CEO (Andy Puzder) claimed it saved the brand.** It's basically the worst example you can cite to prove the "sex doesn't sell" claim. Their new campaign, under a new CEO targetting a different demographic, still features tons of sex, but in a mocking fashion, so it's not exactly like they pulled away, they just refined the delivery of the sex.
