To be honest, when I first stopped eating milk and eggs, I still would have them when sourced from a place I trusted the animals were enjoying life, a neighbor's large backyard, a nice farm upstate I've visited, etc. Then as I had them less and less I realized I actually felt better when I didn't have any, so I just stopped completely. A million times better than any larger farm I've seen, and a lot niftier than the smaller ones. I try not to be judgemental of people because of exactly your point, it just gets a little depressing having people talk about how delicious animals are so they don't care...
