I've frequently said something similar to people, and it's absolutely true. I compared humankind to bacteria - where it's warm and moist is where colonies thrive best. The host's (Earth's) immune system fights back when the ecosystem is out of wack, but has been losing because humans have found ways to become more resilient and stronger (medicine and technology) than ever before.
