"The difficulty with relativism is that there is no intermediate position of relativism between absolutism about truth and total solipsism." Isn't the intermediate position that constitutes relativism simply this: There is an objective absolute reality, to which we are all exposed. However our minds develop into unique (if similar) interpreters of that absolute reality, dependent upon A. slight innate differences in initial mental capacities and algorithms, and B. the nature of our particular exposure over time to that absolute reality. Therefore, the truth can exist relative to your point of view while the reality itself that we have access to remains a single objective reality - I would call that short of total solipsism. No?
