So much overreacting and hand-waving. If you don't commit any crimes, these databases have no effect on you. The most egregious story they could find was a person who **stole a car** and **took it on a police chase**. He thinks the database gave him 6 years. I think if you don't want to go to jail for 6 years don't steal cars or try to run from the cops. Just like every criminal control measure, if you publicize every activity that can raise or lower your "crime score" then the algorithm becomes useless because anyone who cares to can game their score with impunity. Perhaps that's why the credit reporting companies, which have algorithms that actually directly impact law-abiding citizens lives, are still allowed to be entirely opaque. I don't care that some thug thinks he may have only gotten 5 years instead of 6 without the database. He earned his time fair and square. If he didn't steal cars he would be in for 0 years.
