Because none of us are going to have jobs that are able to afford the produce of that robot labor. The way it works now, the robots will be owned by companies who have no responsibility, nor reason, and every indication they won't give any bit of their product away but for money. Nor will they hire and pay money to anyone who isn't directly contributing to them. This is pretty much how things work now. In fact, the people who own the factories won't implement robots unless it saves them money. In this case, it "reduces the cost of labor", i.e. a net loss for workforce pay. Either through simplifying the work so more people can do it, labor supply goes up, and pay gets cut. Or unskilled labor gets culled for a far smaller amount of skilled laborers fixing the robots. Either way, its only done because the total cost of labor goes down, and there is less money to go around for the workers. With robots, there will be very little need for labor, so there will be no need for factory owners to give anyone work, nor will they give away the produce of the robots. You cannot changing this without changing the current economic arrangement. So the average person seeing any bit of the benefits under the current system is nil.
