I've used Car2Go a bit and the worst mess I've seen is some pine needles on the floor mats and once an empty can in the cup holder. They solve it my making you report the condition of the car every time you get in, so either you report the previous person's mess (and they get fined) or the next person will report YOU for that mess and you'll get fined. I don't know how often they clean the cars themselves or how much that's adding to their overhead, but it does result in fairly clean vehicles.
