Society benefits more when it runs efficiently. We could extend prison sentences to employ more guards or raise tariffs to keep manufacturing jobs in the US or outlaw tractors to employ millions more people for growing crops. It sucks for the people who's industry is impacted by seismic restructuring but that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep marching forward.
