That's the thing. Once we reach a post scarcity economy capatalism itself will cease to function. Capatalism relies on the capatalists who have money, to invest in new businesses and provide more jobs to the working class. But when there is little need for the working class, which is the majority of people, how are they to compete against one another for the few remaining jobs? The answer is that we can't. What needs to happen is a reworking of our economic system that doesn't reward time put into a job with money. This won't work when not everyone can work, even if they want to. Now we have 2 options that we can take to guide the outcome of the AI takeover. Option 1. The system doesn't change and the capatalists in power use AI as a tool to keep the power concentrated in their hands, while more of us end up working dead end useless jobs just to keep ourselves from not being able to afford to live. Option 2. We demand that the technological advances made by humanity are to be used to liberate us from the yolk of meaningless labor. Why should all of us continue to work if the AI's can take care of the monotonous "chore" jobs that none of us care to do. With this scenario a new system of economics must be formed in a way of rewarding people not for time put in, but rather for the deeds the do or the goods the create. It is important to separate our human worth from the time we put into making the economic machine roll forever into progress. Especially when we are removed from the equation. Imagine the possibilities that could be if we were free from the economic burdens of having to put in 5/7 of our days just to be able to live a decent life.
