With all due respect and without intent to be insulting, my basic premise is that you are "mentally ill" by the very fact that these thoughts/emotions and desires occur within you. I certainly applaud your Rules and I hope they serve you well in both avoiding harm and avoiding consequences for doing such harm. I hope it is understood that I believe there is no shame or negative connotation to assertions of ignorance or mental illness. These conditions are natural in a sense and are far more common than both the intellectual and medical communities (and layman's "pop culture") currently recognize. There is no stigma to this because we are ALL ignorant of something and we are all somewhat broken through genetic variance or trauma. More pointedly, I myself am ignorant of a great many things and I suffer mental illness. I do not hold myself aloof from these descriptions. I know you think yourself "Evil" for having these thoughts, but I hope you will be more kind to yourself and recognize that these drives occur without you making them occur. The fact that you successfully resist is a testament to the strength of your mental health in other areas that have allowed for effective coping skills. I believe behavioral science is making great progress on this front. Just as we no longer attribute schizophrenia to demon possession, someday we will find the defect that creates sociopaths and help to eliminate these urges with proper intervention. Hang in there and stay on the righteous path!
