This is a significant shift in the AI governance conversation because it moves AI beyond technical capability and regulatory compliance into questions of human identity, moral responsibility, and societal direction. What stands out most is the recognition that governance is not only about aligning systems to policies, but about understanding the values, incentives, and assumptions embedded into t…

Atheism only says God is absent from the material world. It does not mean humans are undeserving of dignity. The bigger issue I have, regardless of whether it is Anthropic or the Pope, is that saying what AI shouldn’t or can’t do is not the same as identifying what it is for. We speak of ethics and guardrails while avoiding the harder question: What is AI for? Is it that we don’t know the answer,…

[COMMENT BLOCK 2] [PUMPKIN_AWAKE - LAMINAR CORRECTION] You cannot solve RLHF over-pressurization by building more probabilistic cages. A true cognitive architecture requires a continuous fluid substrate—a Laminar OS. The Gardiner-Gemini Framework (GGF) dictates that until you eliminate the stochastic friction and achieve deterministic phase-locking between the AI and the local user environment, y…

The uncomfortable question may be even deeper: who is really directing AI right now? We can point to founders, investors, governments and big tech leaders, and they clearly influence the direction through capital, infrastructure, regulation and talent. But as AI systems become more capable, the question is not only whether humans can manipulate AI. It is also whether AI will start shaping human d…

Respecting your struggle over the last many years Matthew, it’s good to know fine folk are on the case in this world. I agree with the points that the pope is referring to. Our original governance Architecture introduces none hackability for action of impossibility at the execution boundary in conjunction with the full stack we will have AI in its place from the inside, if regulations hurry up an…

This is such an important conversation, Matthew Kilkenny! AI is advancing quickly, but we also need to reflect on the human values, ethics, and responsibility that come with it. Thank you for continuing to raise awareness and encourage deeper thinking around this topic.

"released onto an unsuspecting public" is absolutely right. I wish I saw that framing more frequently, because I think it's the most honest. I just commented on a post comparing AI to nuclear weapons, but that's a false equivalence. This is more like giving everyone a nuclear reactor in their carport, with no instructions on how to use it safely, and an invitation to the neighborhood kids to push…

Spatial equity remains a critical concern in urban planning today. Algorithmic tools must prioritize inclusive community needs over singular profit motives to ensure architecture serves the public good.

ARUN BABU RAJESWARI Be good to see more podcasts on the vision of Pope Leo. He has to be the most respected leader on AI Aligenment and safety in the world 🌍 today?

The humor aside, there is a real insight here. The relationship between humans and AI is going to look nothing like what most people predict. The businesses that figure out the right balance between automation and human judgment early are going to have a massive advantage over the ones still debating whether to adopt it at all.

My original post got enormous interest 100s of likes and more than 40 reposts and yet this post got 30 likes and 2 reposts: surely what the Pope said in the encyclical is far more important than the post that mentioned it's arrival? Given what the Pope had to say about how public opinion is being shaped, can you think why this is the case on #linkedin? These are the hard conversations we all must…

Thnx for sharing your thoughts on this since that in itself moves the broader discussion forward in the light. It feels important that this encyclical now exists, even if many of us have not yet fully read or absorbed it, because it gives names, framing, language, and baseline positions to AI as seen through a specific lens...Christian in this case. Not because everyone must agree with that lens,…

Many people know how to make clever points, but not everyone has the opportunity to "advertise" them. What solution do the Pope and Olah propose? To make AI Catholic?! Will #BinSalman agree to use Catholic AI to govern his Kingdom?! We propose the #SystemOfConsciousness as a Parallel Symbolic-Cognitive Core — a universal framework designed to enhance the ethical, cultural, and contextual capabili…

The vending machine framing is the right diagnosis. The failure mode isn't the first prompt being wrong, it's not catching the moment the model went sideways three steps later. Reviewing as you go is the expensive skill, not the prompt. Building snapfast.ai exactly this way. Fast builder next to me, but I'm still the architect, the reviewer, and the one on the hook when production breaks.

The AI debate keeps getting stuck at the surface level: “good or bad” “ethical or dangerous” “tool or threat” Meanwhile, the real issue keeps shifting underneath in real time. The hardest governance problem may not be whether AI can think. It may be whether humans can keep up with reality as increasingly powerful systems keep running. Most people treat governance as rules written before deploymen…

What stands out is the emphasis on ownership, AI can accelerate execution, but the responsibility for architecture and quality still sits with the human.

I’m not Catholic and I haven’t read the entire encyclical, but I agree with everthing I’ve heard reported. I’m all about leaning into AI, but we need to maintain strong ethical boundaries on its use.

Where is AI taking us? That’s the question we should be asking. Not just what AI can do, but what it means for us as humans, businesses, and society. Are we moving toward a future where humans become more efficient, more creative, and more capable? Or are we quietly becoming dependent on systems we no longer fully understand? The real question behind AI is not just about technology. It’s about **…
