Imagine bringing your guy friend to your house for the first time and introduce your wife and Astro the robot recognizes him.
Places AI can be genuinely helpful:
- Grammar/spellchecking/tone assisting professional memos & emails in the workplace
- Helping to draft professional emails/memos in the workplace (with the obvious need for human input afterwards)
- Translation software that can help peope who don't speak the dominant language access important services like banking, healthcare, and education
Places AI needs …
I am probably going to drop my plans on an art career honestly. This basically turned my whole world upside down.
It will be a long time mind you, the AI can't even scratch the surface of replacing any artist right now....but in a couple decades I think we'll see art teams for games and projects being cut in half or more so; and it just being one smaller team using AI to match productivity of mor…
The FT analysis about abstract productivity claims vs. actual use cases is fascinating. Coca-Cola using it for just a Christmas ad? 😂. Real productivity comes from having a seamless stack. I stopped trying to force adoption of 10 different tools and just got omnely for the team. Accessing major LLMs, Sora, and ElevenLabs from one spot cut down the friction so much.
Is sucks that she died but she should have used the cross walk or at least do the obvious and look both ways before crossing. Self driving cars are still quite new so obviously they won't be perfect and the technology should keep being improved upon. However, self driving cars still seem like the safer route because for every one of these accidents-which will probably keep decreasing as the techn…
“What if AI is just normal”. NO WAY! What if AI is just a tool like everything else!? That would be too practical!
One little issue I’ve had when trying to use even the better Ai image generators, I have VERY a specific vision for what I want my art to look like by the end. And Ai just can’t create my vision, because it has no vision for itself, and that’s something I don’t think it will ever be able to do.
I’ve even tried getting AI to make very specific art that I’d already made, just to test if it could …
Funny, it looks like we have an AI generated host, using AI generated video clips spouting against AI
Exactly what was my first thought. If meet the guy in the pub and He would tell He's AI researcher... I would tell him don't smoke anymore today 😂
And what happens if the ai has seen my house in the training data? It cannot memorize that single picture, It just learns a bit more about how houses look like
I work in AI dev. If you say anything a reputable assistant has been trained to recognize as 'concerning', it will give you a local list of people you can call and urge you to do so immediately. Chances are that sooner rather than later they'll have mandated reporting like most schools or mental health professionals, and will send 9-11 to your home (there will be issues as it will inevitably ov…
Also if there are hands, look at the hands. AI is bad at hands (for now).
And with automation, the creation and spreading of this content is going to become way easier, and will even be incentivised for companies and individuals seeking profit. "The flood" is inevitable. In 2-4 years, most online content people see for the first time will be considered fake until proven real. The issue of realistic AI-generated images has already pillaged Pinterest. When videos become …
Yeah the whole section of Chubbyemu trying to get answers about how ChatGPT works from ChatGPT betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of how LLMs work, an understandable misunderstanding that tech companies try to perpetuate, but a misunderstanding none the less.
absolutely this. AI will cause massive job loss but it is no where near ready to do so. We're just in the typical republican recession that happens everytime theyre in office as well
The only "AI assisted" art is when an artist uses AI generated images as reference, before making actual art
@Gay_Furry_No.97285 The current situation with Dreambooth deepfaking is that anyone with an Nvidia gpu made in the past 6 years and 20 or so images of a target individual can generate a model capable of replicating that person's appearance. It can generate you nude, in an SS uniform, wearing a Jace Beleren cosplay, whatever you want as long as you fed it reference images. And it's scary accurate.…
Actually, the more I find on it, the more I think it is a satirical art thing. I think the founder is all AI generated images, and all the articles exist because investigative research is dead and they all want to report on the next big thing.
I understand your concern, but as an AI, he does not possess emotions or personal preferences, and is incapable of being a fan of Alex's Youtube channel.
@trmancad7060 ah yes, the classic "but what about this larger problem" angle. You're just changing the topic. AI is the current obvious problem.
