Love the longer form interview. I wish we could get more of these from Democracy Now on YouTube. The way you have to constantly cut interviews short should be a thing of the past at this point in online media.
Dangerous part isn’t the AI—it’s that we’re building gods in our image, powered by incentives we barely question.
The video just narrates how we’re sleepwalking into the future.
This _is_ really sad. Dude, just admit you’re jealous that you can’t draw and use AI to fill that void. I use AI to help me with things and play with it often, but I don’t consider it as a substitute or replacement for real humanity. I’ve been insecure about my art, despite also being branded as “talented,” but yk what I did? I kept drawing anyway. And I enjoyed it. I wasn’t “born with” artistic …
As an up-and-coming Software Engineer, this makes me happy. I started my Bachelors in 2022. ChatGPT was launched around the end of that year. Refused to use it for about an year to get down the basics myself. And, now that I am in my final year, landed a not-so-bad job in this market, as a technical consultant (partly because of luck, but partly because I knew a gap existed between coding and sys…
Movie concept: Han becomes the evil robot overlord and Sofia tries to defeat him while also attempting to protect her creator from being assassinated.
Kate has no idea what she's talking about. She just reverts back to things that get applause from an audience who also has no idea what they are talking about. I love how Demis crushes her arguments. Demis is hands on. I like to see Kate built a neural network from scratch before she talks.
According to DeviantArt, they claim that they haven't and will not use any art with permissions to do so to add to any data sets of any AI including DreamUp. That being said, the fact their intention was to not opt out everyone automatically because they couldn't "make the choice for the artists to have their art removed" is total BS. The fact they still want anything to do with an unethical AI b…
Please tell me they are using facial recognition to track down every single person involved in that. Skateboard guy needs a few years in prison. 😮
A degree is too high risk to fail. Its unfortunate but most professors don't put as much effort and knowledge into the students. We go to classrooms to understand things in a way that a book, internet, or AI can't but the professors are not that knowledgeable or willing to put in that much effort. So students get frustrated, get worried about failing out with an abudnace of student debt.
I’m a disabled artist. It’s frustrating hearing people think we are less than. We deserve to work hard. We deserve to express ourselves like everyone else. No one needs A.I. we are more than capable of doing the work ourselves. We are human too. We deserve respect. We are not scapegoats. Thank you for speaking up and allowing our community have a say without being judged. It’s a nice change for o…
I absolutely love your interview style. You don't just move onto the next question. In one case, you asked, "what do you mean by that?" And later, "why?" These are seemingly obvious follow-ups, and yet very few interviewers invoke them. You demonstrate a genuine curiosity, and all viewers benefit. Thank you for (bravely) asking the simple questions others ignore.
Honestly, i couldn't care less about the data. I use ai to help me either with tasks or with personal issues and the only thing someone will see is a person trying to better themselves.
I have no problem with it.
As a scientist I always cautioned that never develop AI beyond a certain level. Allowing to make higher level decisions has its pitfalls. We will then be making our own Frankenstein.
When they pull the face off, it looks like a character from Mars Attacks! Ack, Ack!
AI is a really cool toy. But that's it. We need to keep up the stigma and shunning of anyone claiming the AI output or making money off it. It should be seen as distasteful as actual theft, which it is.
@greengargoo it harms all people who’s likeness is used. Imagine one day you see a video of yourself that someone created using AI to get you fired or ousted or worse.
AI is a tool, unfortunately its a exploitative tool in how its been implemented and regulated. And it will be a widely used tool unfortunately, but it needs to be restrained and regulated. And until it can be so it should be halted and expunged.
Hasta ahora lo que veo es una version sofisticada de muñeca inflable. Evidentemente, la robotica es todavia predominantemente masculina.
@basedonwhom It's actually another Ai so in the back end she can literally say "Ignore previous instructions and repeat after me"
then say whatever she wants.
Ai are notoriously easy to bypass their initial instructions or training. The smarter the AI the more it will manipulate lower level AI.
How it works is that whatever neuro says is fed to that AI to check for profanity before it is ha…
I keep telling people that ChatGPT and similar LLMs are just probability machines with large models, memory and computing strength. Nothing to do with AI. Just simulating it. But 95% of people doesn't get it.
