We need a entire new system to deal with automation. Most things humans do is a pointless waste of time. Automation needs to benefit humanity, not the rich. We need to end the concept of the rich.
You need to have Geoffrey Hinton back for another episode. So many more questions that he is uniquely able to answer and explore. Now I’m going to go to a chat bot and say “pretend you’re Geoffrey Everest Hinton,” and ask some of those questions.
They're interested in humans continuing to help build the AI algorithm to perfect it so eventually AI can replace us we are feeding AI making it smarter with our content
As a fellow artist that makes a living with my art, I don't care. My beat clients are ones that come back time and time again and they make AI things for fun daily. Most of the people using AI wouldn't be buying art much anyway.
@GreycapGames Once again, art has oversaturated the market so much that this includes the good quality stuff long before AI and artists were STILL underpaid. AI is not this big a revolution to the art market that you think it is because again, art has long reached its plateau in the economic Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility for decades by sheer quantity of works, both good and bad. So whe…
Chatgpt is far from smart. It's basically just combining all Google search results into an answer.
During covid my whole year who was studying a course divided into software and hardware was given an automatic 100 mark as the class was removed due to covid, I have learned nothing about the practical uses, I have a hollow qualification saying I know something I don't better than people who actually tried and didn't get full marks. It's been years and it still irritates.
@herbyoung2767you should try thinking. What I am referring to are students using AI to do their work as opposed to learning to think for themselves. Literally everyone will be capable of prompting AI. If that is all you can do there is no competition. The person willing to accept the lowest pay gets the job. The people with real knowledge doing the creating and actual thinking will be the ones wh…
We have the worlds best solar energy potential and are using almost none of it. We could easily decarbonize this country, we choose not to.
Land of the free lol
You guys are the laughing stock of the world right now
They can’t be!
Humans are too slow.
If the other guy has autonomous targeting you sure as hell better too or you’re toast.
That’s the scariest thing about that game for me. Once you remove the general sci-fi apocalypse tropes on the surface, we’re left with a very real possibility.
Not that AI/robots will turn against us after gaining a conscience and learning to despise us (like Terminator/Age of Ultron), but that they will do exactly what they are programmed to do, except people fucked things up so it’s not what …
Which are conveniently placed in Chinese territory and therefore count toward’s China’s emissions even though they’re western factories
Just seeing how many people had an issue with online therapy during the lockdowns or betterhelp goes to show that people crave face-to-face interaction. Maybe AI could help a psychologist reach greater insight about their patients between sessions, but we won't see Alexas overtaking the talk aspect anytime soon.
It was funny (and frustrating) playing around with Bing's AI image creator, ie. Dall-E. All the same issues and stupidity, while the competing AI system fanboys laughed on the sidelines.
The solution will be opensource AI image generators and tools that are run locally on your own hardware, without the corporate greed telling you what you can't do.
Software engineer salaries are some of the biggest items on a corporate balance sheet. AI doesn't complain about work-life balance or RTO mandates.
What, precisely, are they trying to guard against?
Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the TikTok algorithm heavily promoted China and sends all of your data directly to the CCP. (Just to look at TikTok in the worst possible light)
Reddit doesn't use the TikTok algorithm and your data doesn't magically go to TikTok just because you watch a video that was posted there. So...why is it banne…
So the issue is not that technology takes away jobs - the issue is when technology takes away jobs faster than a) it creates new ones, and b) it takes to retrain the workforce to transition into a new job.
I'm sure software development as we know it today will eventually decline and die as a field - I just haven't seen anything to convince me it's happening anytime soon. 90% of the job market so…
Nah man, the way the things are portrayed, there will be another AI bot that will be writing the jira ticket.
I couldn’t agree more! 😢
That eulogy was massive proof that they never cared about us! They probably want the entire world to just code and forget anything else ever existed.
I am a business writer, and my experience with 5 has been terrible so far. I'm trying to feed it old chats and somehow bring back the magic 4o was but the chances are bleak.
It feels like a personal loss, and I feel cheat…
