> AI suggested 40,000 new possible chemical weapons in just six hours.
I feel like this is misleading. How would the AI know the potency of these mixtures? Based on the article it seems that some of these molecules were structurally similar to known chemical weapons like VX, but the researchers made it clear that the AI-generated molecules have not been tested or synthesized, and they don't i…
This. Exactly what big business is lobbying for in Europe (AI act). They have lawmakers at a point where the law is advertised as protecting consumers but effectively the only protection is for big business who can afford to take the risk. Everyone else will be forced to buy from these guys bc any other model is banned outright on grounds of "risk".
It's like they saw how open source has been e…
I think China's takeaway from all this bullshit is that it is *far easier* (and less risky) to elect chaos - see: Trump - than it is to invade - see: Ukraine.
So I don't expect them to invade Taiwan. I expect them to slurp up all the soft power dropped by the US, to continue to encourage Russia to slam it's dick in a car door, and to bring that soft power to bear on Taiwan both externally and b…
Can we please cut this out? AI isn't doing this, it's the business cycle. AI hasn't replaced anyone yet. Corporations are ruthlessly cutting costs and the first thing that happens are hiring freezes, particularly for the least valuable employees that a company can have - entry level employees.
I fear this will become a far more common occurrence over time. “All the medical establishment are conspiring against us by pushing X, and I creatively prompted AI until it said Y, proving that I’m correct!”… ::presenting to the emergency room…:::
ChatGPT is a reflection of the internet. It actually makes complete sense when you think about it. All of the results perfectly mirror what is “okay” and “not okay” to say on the internet. It perfectly reflects where the loudest opinions on the internet are coming from.
I'm a man and I know it's AI, not all us are like them okay 😂
hii! i am a disabled artist, so here are my two cents on the disability argument for ai art.
it is actually really ableist for people to say that ai art aids disabled individuals in creative expression. essentially, when people say that ai helps disabled people they are saying that those with disabilities are incapable of making art, and further implies they dont believe that disabled people are…
Defending AI art boils down to "I have an idea in my mind, but not enough skill nor willpower to put it on paper".
This bias does not even come from the ai itself but its training data there is simply way more money put into generating propaganda on the internet against the generic european male archetype. It becomes incredibly dangerous when you realize that there are many countries where people like that are the minority.
If Anthropic really had access to ‘a country of PhDs’ they would keep the tech and spend the next few years solving every human problem and putting a patent on everything. Instead they sell the tool. This is the same logic as the people who claim to have a flawless stock picking model and instead of becoming billionaires themselves they promise to make you rich by selling you their course. None o…
@Yku30 I get you but image yourself learning a skills that you are developing for years for AI to take it away from you without your permission or knowinh.
The problem was that MPs didn't want Brexit, hence why it took so long and a change of leader and larger majority.
If my God damn excel doc asks me one more time if I want it to optimize something...
For real, AI correction mostly just being dumb or inadequate people up to a baseline while frustrating those who are actually capable.
Even though theres is no driver, bur the right waymo somehow still have the *"Dude, what the fuck?!"* aura from it 😂
There are many strong arguments against the use of AI generated art and writing, but one I saw that stuck with me the most is: "Why should I be bothered to read something you couldn't be bothered to write?" I think that sums it up well. AI art is completely valueless, and I'm glad to hear Dragonsteel has cut it loose entirely.
As the technology advances, workers are been replaced by AI and machines. Either make all basic need free, or apply UBI. That's almost logic path to go.
What else was she supposed to do? Finding out their work is being used to killing others. God she has a spine
Imagine trying to learn art for years and dreaming to become an artist that takes dedication, hardwork, passion and patience, just for an AI make art in seconds.
4:47 PLEASE PLEASE EVERYONE don't use chatgpt as search engine it can be VERY wrong (+don't ever feed it your art, it will use it for training)
you can switch to cool browsers like Waterfox or use other search engines like duckduckgo or start page (that don't steal your data for advertisement yay wahoo). Waterfox n such are cool because they have the stupidest wildest add-ons. It's so cool. Sorry…
